  • April 2026 - LCU ANNUAL WATER NOTICE
Gateway Services CDD receives its potable water supplied directly from Lee
    County Utilities.
Lee County Utilities will be temporarily converting its disinfectant process from
chloramines to free chlorine residual from May 1 through May 21, 2026.
This is a routine measure that is typical for water utilities using chloramines as
    its primary disinfectant.
This notice is being furnished so you can evaluate the impact of this change on
your operations or patients in advance of the change. Activities, which may be
impacted by this change in treatment include but are not limited to the
    following:
    Operations of kidney dialysis units
    1. Preparation of reagent grade water in the clinical laboratory
    2. Operations of aquariums
If you operate dialysis equipment or have patients on dialysis equipment, we
urge you to contact your equipment supplier so you can install the proper water
    filters.
If your lab prepares reagent grade water, other forms of pretreatment of the
    water may be necessary.
Questions regarding aquariums may be directed to Lee County Utilities.
Again, this is a routine measure to ensure our customers of clean, safe potable
    water.
Please feel free to contact Lee County Utilities office during regular business
hours, 8am to 4:30pm at 239-533-8845, if you have any questions.
